Today's guest spent six years in the health rabbit hole before he learned the fix wasn't doing more, it was doing less.

Coach Ken spent 25 years as an aerospace engineer and another decade running his own business consulting practice, building a reputation for getting things done, whatever it took. Then mold in a rental bathroom quietly derailed his health for six years. Normal labs. Normal pulmonary tests. Brain fog, fatigue, and weakness that didn't match anything on paper. It took functional health, nervous system work, and learning to regulate a limbic system stuck in fight or flight before he got his life back.

In this Meet Your Health Heroes episode, Ricky and Ken dig into what that six-year rebuild actually taught him about working with clients today, why the whole person (physical, mindset, emotional, and energetic) has to be on the table, and the counterintuitive shift Ken made in his own energy work. We also learn what Ken wishes he'd known before burning himself out chasing his old "lead, follow, or get out of the way" identity, and why he keeps steering clients back to the basics no matter how deep the rabbit hole gets.

In this episode:

  • How six years of unexplained illness led Ken from aerospace engineering to holistic health coaching
  • Why "put up a shield" might be the worst advice for protecting your energy
  • The nervous system piece most practitioners skip when clients aren't improving
  • What Ken wishes he'd told his younger, more intense self
  • How Ken keeps inspired and motivated while learning new ways to support his clients
